WHAT IS WALKING FLOOR AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
A ‘walking floor’ (or ‘moving floor’ as it is sometimes known) is a hydraulically-powered conveyor system using a series of narrow moving floor slats to quickly move material across a flat deck floor surface. When the sets of slats move together the material moves in the direction the operator wants.
Slat design, including length, width and thickness, depends on application. A two-way, variable speed hydraulic power unit moves the floor and allows controlled loading and unloading. Precision metering can also be achieved.
The technology has proved durable with some of the original batches of walking floors still in front line operation 15 years after they were first installed. We have experience installing and repairing all three brands of floors.
